Nothing matters more than the strength of our network
The state of our network drives the state of your business and that’s why we work so diligently to ensure that ours delivers exceptional reliability, security and speed.
Our Network
The short story:
- Redundant systems insure the security and reliability of your data
- High-speed Ethernet connections to the Internet and between five dedicated Red Anvil network access points (on network)
- Additional network partnerships in six states (off network)
- Core network is secured at the Milwaukee-area Burnham Data Center
The technical details:
- We have our own Autonomous System Number (ASN 33693) and IP address space
- Core routing uses carrier-grade Juniper M-Series routers running VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol) to provide automatic failover redundancy at the router level
- Use redundant, carrier-grade Juniper switches
- Where possible, we use pathway ring topologies—this lessens the chance of the failure of one piece of equipment having an impact on client systems
- For data security, multiple upstream providers connect into the facility via fiber
- A diverse-path fiber ring assures reliability and redundancy and connects the Burnham Data Center to the carrier hotel in downtown Milwaukee where we meet other national and local providers
Internet Services
We offer highly secure and reliable Internet service with:
- Multi-homed, diverse path fiber network
- Redundant, carrier-grade Juniper switches
- Redundant, carrier-class Juniper routers (for stable network connectivity)
The result: 99.99% uptime SLA
On Network Internet—when security and redundancy are critical
Two Internet service options:
Burnham Data Center
- Main network operation center
- Offers highest levels of redundancy
Equinix Data Center
- Chicago presence
- Offers international connectivity options
- Midwest meet-point for all networks
Network Access Points
Five Midwestern locations:
- Milwaukee, Wisconsin Wells Building 324 E. Wisconsin Ave. Milwaukee, WI
- Chicago, Illinois Equinix Center 350 E. Cermak, Chicago, IL
- Green Bay, WI
- Kenosha, WI
- Grand Rapids, MI
If your company is located in or has a network presence near any of these locations, you may be able to physically connect to our network for increased speed and “On Network” Internet service pricing.

Off Network—providing service in a six-state, 90-city footprint
Red Anvil split our high-speed data network between proprietary and shared networks. This allows us to offer services to a broader variety of customers—including those outside our core geographic area—and also lets you choose from a number of provider partners instead of being forced to accept a “one-size-fits-all” solution.

Ethernet Point-to-Point—create your own secure, private network
Organizations with multiple locations often prefer to use a secure private network to connect their facilities. Red Anvil has the resources to tailor a network that meets your specific needs including:
- Our regional fiber network
- Partnerships with last mile providers
- Flexible connectivity to premier international networks
